It is well maintained, clean and bright with excellent facilities.

The ability to book the whole complex from Friday afternoon until Sunday allows plenty of time for decorating the hall and clearing up afterwards. The licence limits numbers to; Eisenhower Room – 248 standing, 161 seated, Montgomery Room – 75 standing, 48 seated.

The close proximity to St James church, Southwick, St Nicholas, South Boarhunt and St Mary’s, Portchester makes the hall very convenient for wedding receptions, christening celebrations and funeral wakes.

White Wedding 2

The hall is perfect for many functions...

Wedding

Whether you are planning a wedding in the local church or an event elsewhere the Southwick D-Day Memorial Hall provides a great venue for gathering after the event.

Wedding Reception

With seating for up to 160 guests the hall and its facilities have successfully supported guests in arranging receptions from the traditional wedding breakfast to the more informal drinks and canapes style event.

Party

We have a licence to allow music until 11pm. Not only does this fit the wedding bill but it also has served equally well for anniversary, birthday and retirement parties.

Family Reunion

If you are looking for a venue to hold a family reunion, get-together or a gathering for friends the hall's space, parking and facilities make this an ideal location.

Weekly Clubs

The hall hosts a number of weekly and monthly clubs. Please speak to us if you are considering becoming a regular user and we will do all we can to help.

Business Functions

For business meetings and committees either room may be booked for morning, afternoon or evening use with the brand new AV system in the Eisenhower Room a particularly useful resource. In April 2019 a brand new commercial grade kitchen was installed as well as new Air Source heating/air conditioning and insulation, making the D-Day Memorial Hall amongst the best equipped facility of it’s kind.

Licenses

The hall holds an entertainment licence, with music allowed to be played until 11pm (10.30pm Sundays). Events must close at midnight.

Individual event licence for the sale of alcohol will be required by applying for a TENS to Winchester City Council: http://www.winchester.gov.uk/licensing/alcohol-entertainment/ten/
